10 Incredibly Shameless Product Placements In Well-Loved TV Shows

4. Chuck €“ Subway

Chuck Subway Chuck was awesome, and that is scientific fact. The adventures of everyone's favourite computer geek-turned accidental Intersect cipher-turned spy-thwarter extraordinaire was a compelling watch, and the show soon garnered a cult following. Yet unfortunately, and in one of mankind's most awful crimes, not enough people loved it, and sure enough, the cancellation vultures came a-circling. However, as is customary for passionate fans faced with show cancellations, things soon got nutty. And most of this fan ardour was aimed squarely at show sponsors Subway. They begged the chain to front up the cash by mass-buying footlongs at significant times, and Chuck himself (well, Zachary Levi) engaged his inner Moses and guided hundreds of British fans into the promised land of a Birmingham Subway. Amazingly, when faced with these stunts, the company stumped up what was needed. Yet ironically, there's no such thing as a free lunch (arf), and Subway expected something in return. So for the remaining seasons we were treated to various cast members tucking in on distinctive-looking sandwiches €“ a practice which reached its zenith/nadir when Big Mike decided to explain to us exactly how much he loved the taste of Subway sandwiches midway through eating one. It was heroically blatant, but if watching the manager of the Burbank Buy More eulogizing his lunch is the price of admission for more Chuck, I suppose I'll take the hit.
