10 Infuriating TV Characters We Couldn't Decide To Love Or Hate

8. Ned Flanders - The Simpsons

Ned Flanders is Homer Simpson's impossibly upbeat, devoutly Christian neighbour. His unsettling optimism is an irritant to pretty much everyone he comes into contact with, but especially Homer. How many of us have known that guy in real life, who's more positive than should really be allowed? It makes the rest of us look like cynical jerks. But after twenty five seasons, you start to give the guy a certain level of begrudging respect, after how long he's been abused by his apathetic neighbours. Maybe we could all learn something from Ned Flanders about staying positive in the face of adversity. That said, he's clearly the most irritating person alive, and just when you're starting to find all of his little bumps and quirks delightfully endearing, he goes and does something so unbelievably Ned Flanders that you start to feel the urge to burn his house to the ground.
