10 INSANE TV Cameos You've Never Seen
2. Rob McElhenney - Lost
It's a testament to how long It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia has been running that Rob McElhenney could make a brief appearance on Lost and it wouldn't be a before-they-were-famous role.
In the mystery series' third season, McElhenney appeared fleetingly as Aldo, a member of the Others who gets knocked out by Kate (Evangeline Lilly).
Somewhat less conspicuously, he actually reprised the role with a second cameo in the sixth and final season's episode "What Kate Does," where he's shot and killed by Claire (Emilie de Ravin).
If you've never bothered to rewatch Lost in its entirety since it aired, and are one of the many who became an It's Always Sunny fan in more recent years, you'll likely have no idea that McElhenney ever played a part in the show. So even if you've seen this cameo, you've probably not really seen it.
Either way, no offense to McElhenney, but to modern eyes it's absolutely impossible to take him seriously in this part, knowing that he's also playing Mac at the same time.
As for how he won the part? McElhenney was introduced to the series' co-creator Damon Lindelof, who in turn offered him a small role on the show.
