4. A Dinosaurus Deal

Though Mark's origins are born from a desire to assist the people of earth, his morality is questioned at the series' halfway point.

After a deadly attack on Las Vegas renders the city destroyed, David Anders' Dino alter-ego Dinosaurus takes responsibility. It's not his intention to kill at such numbers, but his distaste for the city, which he refers to as an unsustainable 'man-made oasis in the middle of a naturally formed desert', is the centre of his ire.

Dinosaurus' warped sense of righteousness is a surprise when he destroys Las Vegas, and he becomes one of the few comic villains who achieves what he set out to do. Perhaps more shocking, though, is Mark's tentative alliance with the villain.

Eve's lack of approval to the idea is thoroughly understandable, but Mark's insistence that the ends justified the means - arguing that heroes are often unable to see the bigger picture and focus too much on fixing the here-and-now issues - are a sign of change for the character.

Dinosaurus provided Invincible with a significant moral conundrum that gave the character some much needed psychological adversity. Mark's morals were questioned, and the character is all the better, and more complex, for it.
