10 Late Night TV Shows From Back In The Day

9. Tales From The Darkside

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BafU9NgCXEg Released in 1984, Tales from the Darkside was conceived by George Romero as a horror anthology series. Each one concerned a short story with a twist - mainly horror based - in the tradition of The Twilight Zone. They incorporated a large degree of humour. The series featured stories from Stephen King, Harlan Ellison, Clive Barker, Robert Bloch and John Cheever. It was made into a feature length movie in 1990. When the show wrapped up in 1988, it was replaced by Monsters. Horribly dated, Tales From the Darkside was a late night programme that was a staple in the ITV canon for many a year. If you want to go all nostalgic and take a trip down Memory Lane - it is currently playing (along with its successor - Monsters) on the Horror Channel in the UK.

My first film watched was Carrie aged 2 on my dad's knee. Educated at The University of St Andrews and Trinity College Dublin. Fan of Arthouse, Exploitation, Horror, Euro Trash, Giallo, New French Extremism. Weaned at the bosom of a Russ Meyer starlet. The bleaker, artier or sleazier the better!
