10 Life Lessons The Walking Dead Teaches Us

7. Sing When You're Losing

Wd7 Who could forget Beth's rendition of 'The Parting Glass' when the group first reached the prison in the Season 3 premiere? Really? You've forgotten? Well that is a surprise. Especially because that thing went on for like three whole minutes; it's permanently engraved into my brain alongside Michael Cera's version of 'These Eyes' from Superbad. In any case, if Beth has taught us nothing else (and she hasn't) it's that a well-timed cover of an obscure folk song is always enough to lift everyone's spirits, zombie apocalypse or otherwise. Sometimes people even feel inclined to join in, although it remains to be seen whether the gang will pull together for an ensemble performance of 'Kumbaya' now that they're on the road again. But I for one am hoping that such an event does indeed materialise when the series returns in February.
