10 Life Lessons The Walking Dead Teaches Us

4. Keep Your Kids In Plain Sight At All Times

Wd4 Let's face it, none of the kids on The Walking Dead are going to grow up to be Clint Eastwood. When asked the question: "Kids! (Huh! Good God!) What are they good for?" the answer is, quite predictably, "Absolutely nothing." Except maybe screaming at the top of their lungs, alerting every walker within a ten mile radius. But I'm not sure this is actually a good thing. You'll have to ask Rick. But I guess, in the kids' defence, they are growing up in a world where they are in constant danger, not just from an impending 'Chinese Burn' or 'Wet Willy', but from flesh-eating, braindead ex-humans. So maybe we should take a closer look at the parents, hmm? Let's recap. Carol took her eyes off Sophia during a zombie stampede on the freeway. Result: Sophia died. Rick took his eyes off Carl in the woods. Result: He got shot. And what about the Season 4 halfway finale? Lilly took her eyes off Meghan for a second. Result: She got bitten. Rick left Judith in the care of the other kids (kids that had been foolishly naming the nearby walkers, enticing them to break down the prison fence, only a few episode previously) while he went to fight with the Governor. Result: Well... I'm not sure, actually. Presumably, after realising she had to do everything in her power to survive, she unstrapped herself from her baby carrier and miraculously learned to walk, and then ran off. Regardless, it doesn't look good for her. So, parents, take note. Take your eyes off your kids for two seconds and they WILL die. Or at the very least get shot.
