3. Even If You're 99% Sure Your Husband Is Dead, Don't Jump Into Bed With His Best Pal Until You're 100%
Look. There are very few of us who haven't been in a relationship and at least briefly considered what it would be like to sleep with our partner's best friend. It's human nature, I think. I'm sure if you read some Freud you'd find confirmation for this somewhere. Granted, the majority of us haven't also seen our partner shot into a coma and then their hospital getting overrun by the undead. But Lori did. Poor old Rick. The only thing he cared about when he emerged from that coma was finding his wife and son. Meanwhile, said wife and son were fully occupied by the thoughts "Shane's so hot" and "Shane's so cool" respectively. Lori starts a relationship with Shane and we all know the rest: Shane loses the plot, jolly farmer Otis and resident crackpot Dale become biter food as a result, Shane and Rick's friendship deteriorates, Shane dies as a result, and eventually Lori herself dies in childbirth giving birth to a baby that may or may not share DNA with Rick. It's also arguable that the main reason Lori decided to keep the baby was to try and rebuild bridges with Rick and bring their fragmented family back together. Hence, there is a lesson to be learnt here. If you're married, and you think your husband or wife is gone for good, at least make sure. Don't just assume. Because when you assume... blah blah blah. And that's not just applicable to a zombie apocalypse, either. If your husband is on business in Russia and a civil war breaks out, don't just assume he's dead and jump straight in the sack with one of his drinking buddies. In fact, it's even worse if it happens in real life, because the cheated-on party can't just kill the third party in the woods like Rick did. There's a whole different method of dealing with things; it's just a shame the biters took out all the major cities, or we might have seen the most original episode of Jeremy Kyle to date: "I thought my husband had been eaten by zombies so I slept with his best friend!"
