10 Ludicrous Moments From Otherwise Normal TV Shows

1. Roseanne €“ All Of Season 9

roseanne lottery American sitcom Roseanne starred Roseanne Barr and John Goodman as married couple Roseanne and Dan Connor, and was consistently praised for its realistic portrayal of a working class family. Until Season Nine that is. In Season Nine€™s second episode, it was revealed that the Connors had won the lottery with a jackpot of $108 million. So the show transitioned from a realistic comedy about a struggling working class family to one about a formerly working class family who now had insane amounts of money. It basically turned one of the most highly regarded sitcoms of recent years into a Beverly Hillbillies knockoff. But not content with just abandoning what had made the show such a smash hit, the show€™s writers and producers suddenly crammed it full of ridiculous plot developments including Roseanne€™s mother suddenly coming out as a lesbian and her daughter falling in love with a wealthy prince as well as the most stupid idea of them all: an episode titled Roseambo where Roseanne meets Hilary Clinton and fights terrorists on a train. The show€™s last episode ended with the reveal that the heart attack Dan suffered in Season Eight was actually fatal and that everything that had happened afterwards was a fantasy created by Roseanne as both a book and a way to cope with her supremely craptacular life. Since the show was already cancelled by the time Season Nine was commissioned, it was pumped full of cheap gimmicks in an attempt to up its ratings right before it ended. All of them completely and utterly ludicrous. Though, to give it its due, Roseanne's monologue at the end of the last episode is pretty affecting stuff. Which normal TV shows do you think contained ludicrous moments? Leave a comment...
