10 Ludicrous Moments From Otherwise Normal TV Shows

6. Breaking Bad €“ Tortuga€™s Head

Breaking Bad Tortugas Head As I said in the introduction, ludicrous moments aren€™t synonymous with bad television. Case in point: Breaking Bad, which featured a particularly ludicrous moment in Season 2 that still worked pretty well. In the episode "Negro y Azul", we are introduced to drug runner Tortuga (Danny Trejo) who also works as an informant for the DEA (Drug Enforcement Agency). He gives the DEA information about when and where a drug deal is to take place and they set up a stakeout based on his information. At the location of the deal, a tortoise walks towards the DEA agents carrying Tortuga€™s severed head on its back with the message €œHola DEA€ painted on its shell. This would be slightly but not entirely ludicrous if it weren€™t for what happens next. A DEA agent tries to pick up the head triggering an explosion as the head has been stuffed with explosives (later established as four or five pounds of C4) and fitted with a pressure-sensitive detonator. The head and the tortoise exploding is a pretty bizarre moment even for a drama about violent drug dealers but its bizarreness definitely wasn€™t to the show's detriment.
