10. Ser Dontos Hollard

Poor Ser Dontos. The only surviving member of House Hollard, Dontos is a portly drunk that manages to insult King Joffrey Baratheon himself. After arriving totally intoxicated at the Tourney for King Joffrey's 13th Name Day, he is stripped of his knighthood and made into a fool. Despite his status as a fool, he plays a key part in both Joffrey's death and Sansa's escape from King's Landing.

Dontos gave Sansa her lovely, poisonous necklace, before escorting Sansa away from the scene once the crime has been carried out. Unfortunately, despite being one of the more loveable characters in Game of Thrones, Dontos never felt like anything more than a cog that existed to enable the plots of those more sober than himself. By the time he was filled with crossbow bolts at Littlefinger's order, Sansa's understanding of why it had to happen was more shocking than the death itself.
