10 Major Game Of Thrones Deaths You Didn't Give A Sh*t About

7. Grenn

HBO

Grenn's death at the Battle of Castle Black was one that book readers most certainly did give a sh*t about. One of Jon's most trustworthy allies and advocates, book Grenn was something of a fan favourite due to his friendly demeanour and offbeat wisdom. He's still going strong in the books, so it was a bit of shock to see him bite the dust.

Unfortunately, for most show watchers at least, he was just "that guy with the beard". Thanks to the limited screen time allocated to most of the black brothers, Grenn was never a character that seemed of particularly importance. Grenn's final scene as he recites the vows of the Night's Watch with his brothers at his side is one of the best in the series, and was definitely a respectful seeing off for the character. Unfortunately, due to the multitude of other deaths in the same episode (including a certain red-headed wildling), Grenn's death was widely overlooked.
