10 Male Leads That Made Their TV Show A Hit
1. Walter White - Breaking Bad
Bryan Cranston played a great supporting role in
Malcolm In The Middle, and in Seinfeld. But the transition from comedy series
to drama is a tough one, and I wasn’t the only one who was unsure about Bryan
Cranston’s portrayal of chemistry-teacher-turned-drug-dealer at first, when
Breaking Bad premiered. But boy was I proven wrong.
Breaking Bad was a great show, from the writing to the supporting cast, everything was on point. But Cranston’s portrayal of Walter White made Breaking Bad the worldwide hit it became, and even through it’s been done for a while, no one can mention the show without Mr White coming to mind.
The character development of Walter White was the best one I’ve ever seen, and Cranston perfectly transitioned from the kind, timid chemistry teacher, Mr White, to the infamous, ruthless, power-hungry drug lord, with Heisenberg as his nickname. Cranston did an amazing job of making fans wonder if he was good or evil, and whether he cared about anyone but himself. The role earned Cranston five Golden Globe nominations and one win, as well as many other awards and nominations. We miss you Mr White, we really do.
