10 Marvel Superheroes Who Should Join The Defenders

8. X-23

A clone of Wolverine, the mutant X-23 first appeared in NYX #3 as a living weapon, brainwashed and trained by a secret government agency to carry out their nefarious dealings, the most prominent of which being the assassination of presidential candidate Greg Johnson. Later joining the X-Men, X-23 has sought to redeem herself, recover her lost youth and become a productive member of society. How To Introduce The Character X-23 might need to renamed, and would need to be introduced as an inhuman, not a mutant, but her basic characteristics would remain the same. A child with lost innocence, conditioned on more than one occasion to carry out some fairly heinous acts, X-23 would be mentored by either Jessica Jones or Daredevil, eventually causing a few riffs between the two due to her bloody and unflattering past. Perhaps Daredevil, moral absolutist as he is, takes issue with the amount of skeletons in X-23€™s closet, forcing Jessica to vouch for the young mutant despite her own reservations. It would be a similar dynamic to the one likely to feature in Captain America: Civil War. In this case, X-23 would represent the Bucky Barnes of the show, a morally questionable killer with uncertain allegiances, positioned between two disputing heroes.
