10 Mind-Blowing Facts You Didn't Know About Smallville

2. There Were Plans For A Supernatural Crossover

In more recent times, Supernatural famously had a crossover episode featuring Scooby-Doo, but back in 2005 there were initial plans to have Smallville cross paths with Supernatural.

Said crossover was to actually take a meta approach, and have the Sam and Dean Winchester characters sharing the screen with Tom Welling. As in, Welling would be playing himself, rather than necessarily playing Clark Kent.

This crossover would look to explore the famed Superman curse that has become synonymous with the Man of Steel over the decades. Many conspiracy theorists claim that any and all Superman movie or TV projects have a mysterious curse attached to them - as highlighted by the tragic demise of George Reeves, the paralysis and death of Christopher Reeve, or even the death of Lee Quigley at the age of just 14.

Reeves played Superman in the 1950s, Reeve took on the Last Son of Krypton role in four movies, and Quigley played the infant Kal-El in the 1978 picture in which Reeve headlined as Superman.

This Supernatural-meets-Smallville offering would have seen the Winchesters on a mission to save Tom Welling from the mythical Superman curse that has affected so many others who have been involved with the Big Blue Boy Scout.
