8. Maggie's Middle Name Is Lenny
Over the last 30 plus years, it’s safe to say that fans of The Simpsons have gotten to know the titular family pretty well. Even those who stopped watching at the end of the Golden Age still had a solid decade of watching the show and falling in love with the characters.
However, thanks to the decline in quality, and undeniable Simpsons fatigue, there are significantly less people watching season 33 as did throughout the 90s. This means that most people wouldn’t have learned something new about Maggie after all these years.
That something is her middle name. Even Homer was surprised to learn that Maggie was short for Margaret years ago, but he knew well enough that her middle name is Lenny.
This came about during a flashback episode in which Homer helped deliver Todd Flanders. Ned and Maude decided to name their second born son Todd Homer Flanders as an honour to their neighbour and friend, and as almost an afterthought to the story, Homer added that the same thing happened with Maggie, which is why her middle name is Lenny, poor thing.
