There is a very particular, very recognisable animation style when it comes to The Simpsons. The yellow skin, giant eyes, and overbite on just about every character mark them all as an unmistakeable Springfieldianite.

There is also the fact that they all have four fingers rather than five. This is a standard animation design, and has even been joked about in the show, from Carl being confused as to why they are called high fives, to Homer thinking about pink skinned, five fingered humans as freaks.

However, there are two characters throughout the entire run for which the show took the time and effort to animate with five fingers on each hand. God himself has been depicted many times on the show, the first of which came in 'Homer the Heretic' where he stroked Snowball II to reveal his extra digit.

Then the son of God, Jesus Christ appeared to also have every possible digit when he appeared several years later. This was to set them apart from every other mortal character in the show, as befit their holy status of divinity, even when it was only in one of Homer's dreams.
