10 Mind-Blowing Facts You Never Knew About The Simpsons
5. Edward Norton (Among Others) Was Originally In The Movie
Coming in 2007, The Simpsons Movie was something that fans had been clamouring for for YEARS. The show was finally transcending the small screen and coming to cinemas in a larger than life story around Springfield being cut off from the world thanks to a giant dome.
With such a big event came famous, well not faces, but voices. Albert Brooks, the members of Green Day, and Tom Hanks all made appearances in the movie, but several potentially big guest stars who were originally intended didn’t quite make the final cut.
One of the biggest names that ended up on the cutting room floor was Edward Norton. The Fight Club star was to lend his Woody Allen impression to the man caught between escaping or remaining in Springfield only to get crushed by the dome anyway, however the writers found the eccentric voice to be too distracting.
He was ultimately replaced in this role by Dan Castellaneta, though he was still able to add to his first Simpsons appearance from 2000 six years after the movie released in 2013.
Others who just missed out on a role in the movie in 2007 were Erin Brockovich, Minnie Driver, Isla Fisher, and Kelsey Grammer.
