10 Mistakes Game Of Thrones Can’t Afford To Repeat In Season 6

9. Erratic Pace

'Stannis goes to the bank' and the €˜game of chairs€™ meeting were both plot relevant and functionally vital, but even in a drama with so many characters and elements at play we are gaining momentum. Simply put, this season needs to be the season where all of this groundwork pays off.

The showrunners have had to hold our interest for a long time while trying to do the due diligence to keep everything on track. They have at times failed. Some nuanced exchanges are beautifully done in this show, but this coming season is all about putting the pressure on.

We€™ve been teased since episode one about the White Walker threat and if those few scant shots, while impressive, are supposed to tide us over for another year or two, then this show will run into serious problems.

It really does feel as though this is going to be a season of escalation so this may not be a mistake that is made too often. Hopefully this uncharted territory will embolden showrunners Benioff and Weiss enough to pick up the pace because if they feel the need to return to their comfort zones this could all unravel.
