We all wondered what exactly was going on when Janine, the maid of honour from John and Mary's wedding, appeared from Sherlock's room wearing nothing but one of his designer shirts. It was even curiouser to hear the two of them in the bath; Sherlock Holmes couldn't possibly have found a girlfriend... could he? No, of course not. He planned to use Janine to get to Magnussen: she was his PA. In a shockingly cruel twist, he proposed to her via intercom, just to be let into his office. And then, he didn't see quite how insensitive that was, admitting to John, "I'll tell her that our entire relationship was a ruse to break into her boss' office. I imagine she'll want to stop seeing me at that point... but you're the expert on women." It just so happens, by some stroke of absolute luck, that Janine doesn't seem to mind in the slightest that she was used in an elaborate trespassing scheme that could've got her fired from her job, and the man she loved killed. Most women would probably have slapped him (again).
