10 MORE Game Of Thrones Deleted Scenes You Need To See
4. Arya's Dig At The Critics
There are very few moments when shows like Game Of Thrones can really break the fourth wall, because there's just no crossover with our real world really. But one deleted scene from season six definitely does feel like the show's writers used Arya to have a dig at critics of the show.
Throughout season 6, Arya links up with a troupe of actors (mummers) in Braavos as they perform a satire of Westerosi politics, which in itself is about as consciously meta as the show gets.
In an extended version of this scene that was cut, we get to see much more of their play, The Bloody Hand, including a scene between the actors playing Robert and Cersei, in which the king drops in some vulgar rhymes and pretend farts, to the annoyance of some proper women in the audience. They complain only for Arya to turn to them and say "Why don't you just leave then?" which definitely feels like a jab at the critics who complained in the wake of Joffrey's death at the end of the previous season.
