5. Gilly And The White Walkers

Gilly was mostly cut from the final season of Game Of Thrones - mostly because she didn't really have a dog in the fight - but a cut scene that hasn't yet been revealed from the show would have reminded us all that she had very specific, very valuable experience.

Hannah Murray, who played Gilly and John Bradley who played Samwell Tarly sat down with Digital Spy around the release of the final season to talk about their favourite cut scene and Murray mentioned a scene where Gilly talked about her past experiences with the White Walkers:

“We did a scene together where Gilly talks about the White Walkers that I really really enjoyed. I had a kind of monologue about them, and that ended up not [making it into the show]. It was just a really kind of lovely backstory, because you know it’s easy to forget because she’s come so far… That she had a deeper understanding than we maybe realized I thought was… a really cool scene.”

By the sound of it, that was a pretty big moment to cut and it's a shame.

In the same interview, Kristofer Hivju also revealed that there was a scene in which he had monologued to Brienne - something he ad-libbed by the sound of it - which was tragically cut.
