10 More Great TV Shows Cancelled After Just One Season

8. Forever (2014)

My So-Called Life
ABC

Forever was a fantasy crime drama which ran on ABC throughout 2014 and 2015. The premise was interesting, a New York City medical examiner (Dr Henry Morgan) studied dead bodies in criminal cases in order to solve the mystery of his own immortality. Since his first death 200 years prior when trying to free slaves as a doctor onboard a ship during the African slave trade, every time he dies, he returns to life naked in a body of water. If you think this would make for a great TV show, it did, but unfortunately you’ll never get the writer's intended conclusion to the story.

Forever was cancelled by ABC due to low ratings despite the writers pitching what seems like an exciting continuation of the plot and discovery of the ramifications of season one. Fans were outraged by the cancellation, creating a campaign with over 100,000 signees asking to have the show brought back for another season.

Later, Entertainment Weekly reported that the show had won their ‘Most Missed Cancellation’ poll with over 43% of voters wishing to have the show back. Hey, it’s never too late, ABC.
