10 More Non-Superhero Comic Series That Would Make Great TV Shows

5. Tag

4d63f3103892cGenre: Horror What it is: Tag is Keith Giffen and Kody Chamberlain€™s tale of a man cursed to watch his body decompose in front of his very eyes, or tag another and pass on the curse. Why it would be great: Horror is another genre that hasn€™t had much TV exposure in recent years. But with the success of The Walking Dead, American Horror Story, or even lighter horror fare such as Being Human and True Blood, it€™s time to get that horror going. Tag has a brilliant premise that would lend itself to a mini series, at least. After being tagged by a random stranger, a man finds he€™s been handed of a pagan curse. As his body is slowly rotting away he has to wrestle with his choices. Either continue slowly dying, or find a new victim. The fact that main character Mitch struggles so much with these choices really adds to the drama. Can he condemn another innocent human being to his fate? How can he not? And there€™s Ed, a past victim of the curse, who€™s having a hard time dealing with the guilt of passing it on, so he becomes consumed with stopping it once and for all. The mysterious curse is almost a character in and of itself. How it started and where it comes from would be great central mysteries underlying the whole series. And who doesn€™t love a good mystery? A brilliantly different take on zombie myths, Tag has what every horror fan is looking for.
