10 More Rick & Morty Fan Theories That Change Everything

Throughout Rick and Morty there haven’t been too many genuinely emotional or heart-wrenching moments. One such scene however came after Rick was rejected by Unity. He came home, headed to his garage, and tried to commit suicide.

Before he used his suicide machine himself, something that would have been successful had he not passed out first, he brought a baby Cronenberg in and killed it. Though it seems like he was simply testing his machine to make sure he would die, there could be something here even more painful to think about.

In 'Rick Potion #9', Rick’s mistake turned every living being on the planet into a Cronenberg, forcing him and Morty to leave and find another dimension to call home. Who is to say however, that this is the only universe in which this happened? Infinite universes, infinite possibilities, right?

While the original theory suggested that the Cronenberg was Rick’s original baby Morty, this has been debunked by the season six opener, however it could just as easily be another Morty from another Cronenberged universe that Rick wanted to save from such a fate.

After dooming the entire planet to this apocalypse, Rick found this Cronenberg baby Morty and kept it in stasis until he could find a cure. However, with his plan to kill himself essentially putting any hopes of a cure to bed, he did the humane thing in his eyes and killed the creature instead.
