Much like its progenitor, Angel feels as if it has an unfinished chapter, which again, was somewhat addressed by comic books - but that is not the medium of choice here. Angel ended its five year run on a cliff hanger, with the title character and his band of faithful friends preparing to face the scourges of hell, including a real, live dragon - and then things cut to black, Tony Soprano style, only not far earlier than expected. And that was it for the Angel Investigations team. Sure, some loose ends were wrapped up, like Angel's old nemesis Lindsey, but there was far more to be done, frankly, with the show. In fact, it had just regained its footing after the loss of Charisma Carpenter, and the death of Winifred Burkle (who would become, or better yet be taken over by, the ancient demon Illyria). Despite the death of the sublimely talented Andy Hallet, who played Lorne on the show, the show's cast still has a lot to offer. If David Boreanaz ever has some time off from Bones, a brief return to the world of Angel (and a hefty dose of make-up to deal with the ageing issue) in mini-series format would be very, very welcome. Because we really want to know what happened with that dragon.
