5. Magnum P.I.
A reboot of the legendary '80s crime series Magnum P.I. was always going to struggle to succeed, especially in the absence of the original show's mustachioed star Tom Selleck, who played the part for eight seasons.
This new take launched in 2018 as part of the "Lenkov-verse" of crime series reboots - also including Hawaii Five-O and MacGyver. While scoring heavily mixed reviews across its run, it was still a consistent ratings hit, maintaining an average of 7.48 million viewers per episode throughout season three.
The show's ratings began to dip significantly during its recent fourth season, though its recent cancellation was apparently due to CBS and Universal Television failing to reach a financial agreement on the show moving forward.
Magnum P.I.'s cancellation also effectively brought the Lenkov-verse to an end, given that Hawaii Five-O wrapped up in 2020 and MacGyver was itself cancelled last year.
