Oh, how good it is to be a horror fan at the moment. Coming off the back of one of the best years in recent memory thanks to Sinners, The Long Walk, and 28 Years Later, among many others, horror audiences were truly spoiled in 2025.

The same could be said about last year on the small screen as well, highlighted by the likes of IT: Welcome to Derry, Alien: Earth, The Last of Us season two, and of course the long-awaited return and ending of Stranger Things on Netflix.

As much as this has given fans of the genre more than they could have asked for, it has set the bar incredibly high for 2026. Whether this coming year can come close to matching such a tough act to follow remains to be seen, but there will be more than a few horror TV shows releasing in 2026 to give it a fighting chance.

From more zombies and the return of legendary film franchises, to the latest in the most famous anthology TV series in horror history and the return of one show fans have been waiting for for over two decades, there is plenty to be excited about going into the new year.

In terms of South Korean zombie stories, the most well known and most successful would be Yeon Sang-ho's 2016 effort, Train to Busan - a truly exceptional addition to the genre on the big screen. But what about the small screen?

This would be All of Us Are Dead, a Netflix series that debuted in 2022, and has had fans eagerly awaiting the release of a second season. Thankfully, it appears as though 2026 will see such a wait come to an end.

Based on the web comic of the same name, All of Us Are Dead became a huge hit on the streaming giant, charting in the top 10 of 91 countries, and earning its place as one of Netflix's 10 most watched non-English series of all time. This is what happens when you throw a zombie outbreak into a coming of age high school story.

Though there is no concrete release date for season two as of yet, production is in full swing, and it is believed that it will reach the masses before 2026 is through. Few details are currently available, but with many of the main cast, those whose characters survived at least, returning, there is much to be excited about.
