We all have our favourites when it comes to TV.

Whether it's The Office, Friends, The Simpsons, or that viral Japanese show where they send kids to do chores, everyone has a comfort watch that they stick on when they can't be bothered to try something new.

However, if you are feeling adventurous, then 2023 is going to be a very good year.

Every new year brings with it the promise of a new set of TV shows, but 2023 is looking particularly tasty in that department.

Some of these shows will be familiar, as they are based on existing franchises. Equally, some are set within the universe of well-known properties, and will help expand the lore of those worlds.

However, some of the following programmes are completely new IPs. But don't worry, as they've all got huge names attached to either star in or run the show.

We wouldn't ask you to take that big of a risk!

The outside world is becoming an increasingly more dangerous place to go, so instead of jetting off on your travels in 2023, why not explore the world from the comfort of your living room and get your new experience fix that way.

We're bookending this list with two shows both adapted from popular video games. You'll never guess what number one is...

Before we get to that, let's take a look at the upcoming Amazon Prime series based on the incredibly popular post-apocalyptic RPG series Fallout.

Since the launch of Fallout 3, the first title to be developed by the titanic Bethesda, gamers just haven't been able to get enough of the series' beautifully crafted worlds, engaging characters, and entertaining missions.

Well, except those who played Fallout 76. They've had quite enough.

Hopefully those fans have enough room left for a TV show, because one based on Fallout is coming soon!

It will be headed up by Lisa Joy and Jonathan Nolan of Westworld fame, which is already a huge step in the right direction. It's also got actors like Walton Goggins, Ella Purnell, and Kyle MacLachlan attached, three more steps towards a very good show.

If The Rings of Power is anything to go by, then Amazon are definitely not afraid to spend big bucks to bring a popular franchise to life. Let's just hope they pace this show a little faster.
