Big comebacks on the small screen.

Television is a friend to all. It doesn't care who you are, where you come from, or what you do. If you're willing to plonk yourself down on the sofa for hours on end until your legs wither away and drop off, then TV will be with you every step of the way.

This is why, to some, characters in TV shows can feel like members of the family. When these characters go away, it can be very sad. But on the other hand, when they come back, it's a cause for celebration.

Well put the bubbly on ice folks, because it's reunion time.

The following TV shows are all back in 2023, and we couldn't be more excited. Some of them are wrapping up for good, so this will be your last chance to check in with your favourite characters and find out what happens to them.

Equally, some are in the middle of a red-hot run of form, and were left on a cliffhanger so strong we might pass out if we don't find out how it resolves soon. Thankfully though, we will!

10. The Flash

The CW

Grant Gustin first whizzed onto our screens as the fastest man alive back in 2014. It was a simpler time, one where the name "The Flash" wasn't yet associated with Ezra Miller.

Gustin's version of Barry Allen has carried The CW's Flash series for eight seasons, saving the world from various villains including Killer Frost, Savitar, and Reverse-Flash. His time with the red suit is coming to an end though, as it was confirmed that the upcoming ninth season of The Flash will be its last.

Allen will return for one last run alongside his beloved Iris, new series regular Chillblaine, and the return of Batwoman.

While the show isn't nearly as popular as it used to be, it has been one of the most consistent comic-book presences on TV over the last decade. It'll be a shame to see it go out, but hopefully it will do so with a bang.

And, if not, we'll just get Barry to run backwards through time until he gets it right.
