Though Owen and the Wolves only played a small part in the series, their attack on Alexandria was akin to a massacre.
Their presence had been teased for a few episodes, and though they only made one huge impact, it was a memorable one.
The leader, Owen, was particularly violent, promising Morgan that he would kill him next time they met, and he also continued to torment Denise who was trapped with him in the cells during his group's attack. It is also revealed that they had slaughtered Noah's entire family, which caused huge distress when Noah had to put his reanimated brother down.
They are also responsible for the legendary episode "No Way Out", which also marked the first time the survivors encountered the Saviors.
On escaping, Owen gets cornered by walkers and receives a bite, and does save Denise's life, which somewhat redeems his character to an extent, before he is shot in the chest by Carol, who was disguised as a Wolf.
