Stargate has had many episodes where women were mistreated and over-sexualized for no real reason beyond appealing to the male audience like many sci-fi shows sadly have done so before and after Stargate's run.

Even in Stargate's first spinoff series, Stargate Atlantis, a series where women seemed to have a more prominent role along with their male co-actors, there were many episodes that became controversial for mistreating women.

In the third episode of the third season, the main Atlantis team encountered a planet where everyone on it was completely infatuated by one man named Lucius, who was incredibly obnoxious and clearly absorbed by his popularity.

It turned out that Lucius found a herb on his planet that when baked into bread or distilled into a potion, made him completely irresistible to the planet's population. Lucis even used his potion to infatuate many members of Atlantis, primarily the women.

Many fans felt that Lucius was not only an obnoxious character, he was also far too easily forgiven for his total mistreatment and overall sexist perception of women.

The character even made a return in two other episodes, much to the chagrin of many fans who had become tired of Stargate's willingness to exploit the female members of the franchise.
