10 Most Cringeworthy Doctor Who Moments From The 70s

1. The Doctor's Intercourse (Ahem) With Erato - Creature From The Pit (1979)

No surprise that this is on the list, is there? After all, given that we've already had one alien creature shaped like human genitalia on the list, it's no wonder that the other one should be here, too. It's also interesting how we get one at the very beginning of the '70s and one at the very end - though this was the decade that Deep Throat was released in, after all. What makes the sequence in which the Fourth Doctor first encounters Erato, the eponymous creature from the pit, so much more cringeworthy than all the rest is that there's absolutely nothing serious about it. Even Tom Baker, who normally can play a silly scene without cracking a smile, at one point starts to laugh before recovering. It's as if he's anticipating what he's about to do. Which, if you've forgotten, is to take hold of the phallic appendage of the creature and blow into it. Which looks even worse than it sounds. Not much more that can be said about that, is there? Of course, as with the previous entry, this moment of cringiness is somehow redeemed by the fact that there are fans out there willing to use this moment to do videos like the one below - and god bless them, every one: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RBzshJrNrQE Did we leave out any moments from '70s Who you found altogether too cringey to watch? If so, tell us in the comments below!
