Yes he absolutely deserves it, and yes it will be entertaining to see Ned Stark get his vengeance from beyond the grave (as well as Sansa's rape being taken out on him too for good measure), but Game Of Thrones is poorer by Littlefinger's absence. Like Varys, the scheming low-born chancer is a puppet-master and easily one of the most interesting players in the game. Even when his stock is low (as with the destruction of his brothel), he remains able to manipulate any situation and his allegiance to multiple sides is vastly entertaining to watch. Unfortunately though, Littlefinger cannot win the game, and his all-encompassing need to climb the ladder will probably spell his disaster at some point. When he eventually dies - and he must - it will leave a vacuum. Let's just hope that Martin channels Shakespeare in keeping his Iago-like villain alive for a long time. How He'll Die Through over-reaching, probably. As nice as it would be to The Spider and Littlefinger in some sort of celebrity death match to end them both, their ability with swords wouldn't exactly make for an epic face-off. The most fitting death would come at the hands of Sansa: he basically ensured her father would be killed, and he sold her off to Ramsay no doubt knowing full well that he is Westeros' most notorious wrong 'un. A quick knife between the ribs in the midst of some sort of creepy seduction would do nicely.
