7. The Unsullied Nipple Removal
HBOThe Unsullied are an elite combat unit, comprised of men who have been castrated (as nonsensical as that sounds -- doesn't castration lead to lack of muscle mass and testosterone, two crucial ingredients in any army?) and trained from a young age to be ruthless, going so far as to force them to care for a puppy for a week and then wring its neck. But there has to be a better way for them to demonstrate that the Unsullied are well tough than to slice off one of their nipples. Come on. The entire audience winced in pain at the mere thought. We're watching Daenarys meet the slavers that own the Unsullied units, disgusted right along with her at the blatant physical and emotional abuse these men have been forced to endure, and then one of the slavers heads over to an Unsullied and casually cuts off a nipple. Seriously? That said, this has been a big year for nipple mutilation, given the actions of the mentally unstable Ginsberg on Mad Men.
