6. Oberyn Martell - Game Of Thrones
Rarely has a character had such a positive impact in so short a time as Pedro Pascal's Oberyn Martell. 'The Red Viper of Dorn' was a shining light throughout his season in Westeros, endearing himself to casual fans and hardcore alike with the kind of swagger that always makes a mark in Westeros.
Naturally, though, this was the Great Game, and even themost popular characters never last long. It felt like we were only starting to get to know him when the inevitable happened.
It's the manner of it that still stings, because Oberyn was winning a seemingly impossible fight against The Mountain when the axe swung. And sadly, he only had himself to blame as the Viper's over-confidence leads to him having his head popped like a rotting pumpkin.
Why didn't you just finish him, Oberyn!?
