5. Gary - Santa Clarita Diet
A show about what are essentially zombies is bound to have a few bloody moments scattered here and there, and this brilliant Netflix comedy doesn't shy away from that fact.
We really get a sense of what we're going to be in for by the end of the very first episode when Sheila's obnoxious co-worker, Gary, starts prying into the strange goings on. When he tries to force himself on Sheila in her own back garden, she finally gets to zombie up the show in spectacular fashion.
Sheila rips Gary apart in a vicious hale of guts and body parts. Entrails dangle from the corpse spread across her pristine grass as we wince at this unexpected (although I suppose not with zombies) development. It's a moment of complete uncomfortable shock and a great set-up for what's to come in this quirky, dark comedy.
