10 Most Emotional Brooklyn Nine-Nine Moments
1. Terry Gets Profiled - Moo-Moo
Seeing a comedy show about cops in New York at a time where faith in the force is questionable at best seemed risky, but the loveable characters and exciting episode plots made it work. However, a time would need to come where certain issues were brought up, which is what happened in this episode.
"Moo-Moo" was possibly the most ambitious outing for the show, as it sought to tackle the horrifying issue of racial profiling in the police force. But, rather than seeing it happen to a new character, viewers had to watch the loveable and gentle giant Terry suffer racist treatment.
Seeing Terry get racially profiled by a fellow cop was deeply upsetting, but it only got worse after Holt tried to convince him not to pursue consequences for the officer. It was a huge surprise, and the eventual argument about it showed just how Terry felt.
The entire episode is writhing with emotion, as the writers didn't shy away from the raw subject matter. Instead, it acted like a thorough and emotional exploration of a huge societal issue, and the performances from Braugher and Crews sold it masterfully.
