10 Most Emotional Community Moments

7. The Sophie B. Hawkins Dance

Community Ending
NBC

Possibly the most Britta moment of them all, Britta tries to throw a Sophie B. Hawkins dance to contrast the Dean’s outdated Sadie Hawkins dance, where tradition dictates the girls ask the guys to go. Britta chooses Sophie B. Hawkins as a feminist icon, and when it’s pointed out that she probably meant Susan B. Anthony, she digs in deeper.

Sick of always being told she 'Brittas' things, she refuses to admit her mistake. Jeff continues to tease her anyway, but she sticks to her guns and puts up posters for the Sophie B. Hawkins dance.

On the night of the dance though, Jeff tells her if it's called Sophie B. Hawkins, the guests will expect, well, Sophie B. Hawkins to be there.

In a last-minute panic, Britta desperately tries to book a tribute act. However, anonymous intervention from Pierce actually sees the real Sophie arrive.

Pierce tells Jeff off for being so hard on Britta; he knows full well what it’s like to be the butt of the groups jokes. In the end, Jeff relents and congratulates his friend on the dance, saying (or rather, texting) that she ‘Britta-ed the hell out of it’.
