Season 3 of Arrow was rather bleak and miserable. Sara Lance died early on, and her murder along with the League of Assassins cast a shadow of the rest of the characters, meaning that most of the season played out in the darkness. Admittedly Arrow had never been a particularly sunny show, but even by its usual standards this was depressing; jet black rather than shades of grey. It wasn't until right at the end of the season, when Ra's al Ghul had been defeated, that the cloak was finally lifted and Arrow was allowed to see the light, resulting in Oliver and Felicity finally getting together and literally driving off into the sunset. This was an extremely happy moment for the show and its characters - Oliver even says the words "I'm happy." - and has served as the cataslyst for the show becoming something different in Season 4, with Oliver's transformation into the Green Arrow.
NCTJ-qualified journalist. Most definitely not a racing driver. Drink too much tea; eat too much peanut butter; watch too much TV. Sadly only the latter paying off so far.
A mix of wise-old man in a young man's body with a child-like wonder about him and a great otherworldly sensibility.
