9. Marshall And Lily's Wedding
It's surprisingly easy to forget now, but Lily and Marshall had a pretty rough time in their relationship during the second season.
After Lily gets cold feet on their engagement and runs off to San Francisco, fans believed their relationship was over for good. When she finally returns and tries to win Marshall back, he initially rejects her, claiming it was the hardest thing he had done breaking up with her, and couldn't go through it again.
Love prevails though, and we do eventually make it to their wedding. After a thousand things go wrong (including a head-shaving moment which remains one of the funniest of the show ever), the pair decide to declare their vows to each other in a more private setting, with Barney as their ordained minister and Ted and Robin as witnesses.
It's a beautiful moment for the group, and while the focus is obviously on Marshall and Lily and their love for each other, it also shows how close the main group of five had become by this point.
