6. “The Reindeer In Spain Was Hit Mainly By The Plane”
‘Weird Newscasters’ was a game on the show in which the comedians portrayed different roles on a news show. Usually a co-anchor, weatherman and sports reporter who each had a bizarre personality trait to perform.
Colin Mochrie often played the head news anchor whose role was to simply hold the show together. However, Colin took it upon himself to create characters for himself who always had a ridiculously comedic name. Memorable names include Lars of the Mohicans and Thor Buttocks.
He would also often add in elaborate news stories that ultimately lead to a cheap, yet hilarious, joke. Again, there are too many to choose from when deciding on a favourite, but the one that often springs to mind is the devastating story of Rudolph the reindeer’s death.
Colin’s story went as follows:
“Over Barcelona today, the famed reindeer was hit by a flock of seagulls and a 747. Eyewitnesses report that the reindeer in Spain was hit mainly by the plane.”
