Another project currently in post-production, Resident Evil will - like The Midnight Club - premiere on Netflix this year. Based on the popular video game franchise this show takes place three decades after the original game and includes the T-virus and Umbrella Corporation.
This continuation of the story takes place over two timelines - before and after the virus outbreak - first following 14-year-old sisters Jade and Billie Wesker as they move to New Racoon City and discover secrets about their father. Their father will be recognizable to those who are fans of the game franchise, but this version of the character will be a departure from his video game counterpart.
The other time period is over a decade in the future, following Jade, who is now 30. There is no mention of what has happened to her sister Billie, but viewers can assume that she is no longer with us. This world sees only 15 million humans remaining as the T-virus has already infected six million people and animals. The action after the outbreak follows Jade trying to survive in a world overrun by zombies.
