2. Dr. Thaddeus "Rusty" Venture

In the history of animation, there is no greater failure as a super scientist than Dr. Thaddeus "Rusty" Venture. The pill popping progeny of the great Dr. Jonas Venture, Sr. has dropped the ball so many times in so many ways that it's honestly hard to keep track.

It's not that Rusty isn't a relatively capable scientist but the problem is that he has almost no formal training to speak of. If he actually tried in school or paid attention to anything his father had tried to teach him, Rusty might have had a shot at being a legit super scientist. Instead, he rebelled against his father by seemingly doing his best to do his worst.

The biggest thing to hamstring his efforts is how cheap he is. Rusty constantly undercuts his own work by cutting corners on his projects, and operating almost solely from a place of greed. If he does what's right, it's usually only because it's the option that will make him the most money.

Keep in mind that this is a man who once used a cursed orphan's heart to power one of his inventions.
