Good news, everyone! This is the point you get to read about Professor Farnsworth, Futurama's mad scientist extraordinaire. The key word here is "mad." Despite being a business owner and professor at Mars University, he is dangerously senile and amoral, and certainly should not be trusted with any of the inventions he creates.

Farnsworth is more likely to destroy the world than save it. When he does save the world, it's probably because his plan to destroy it failed. Because of the senility.

Fortunately for his distant uncle/grandfather Philip J. Fry, Farnsworth has some love for family or he wouldn't have hired Fry to work at Planet Express. Frankly, Farnsworth probably just saw a great source of replacement organs. He is 160 years old, after all, so the need is always there.
