10 Most Memorable Friends Cameos
3. Hugh Laurie
I just want to say that you are a horrible, horrible person; you say you love this man and yet youre about to ruin the happiest day of his life. Im afraid I have to agree with your friend Feebs, this is a terrible, terrible plan. And by the way, it seems to be perfectly clear that you were on a break
Played:Bloke on plane, forced to sit and listen to the Ross and Rachel saga, condensed. This is arguably one of my favourite cameos, just because Hugh Laurie has a screen-time of about 50-seconds and doesnt waste one of them. From start to finish, he embodies a character that is so dislikeable yet so attractively funny that its almost a shame hes not featured more. That being said, Im glad his role was kept to a minimum that way it makes it all the funnier. As Rachel boards a plane for London, intent on ruining Rosss wedding to Emily by telling him that she loves him, she is perched next to Laurie, a visibly frustrated man who has zero-tolerance for Rachels enthusiasm. The money-shot is when he interrupts Rachels tale of woe to explain that he agrees with Phoebe in that Rachels plan is awful and shes a bad person for doing it. When she explains that she thinks hes wrong, his mock terror is just perfect. Its so simple, so minimalist and so funny. Laurie plays it to perfection. For Community fans, be sure to check out Jim Rashs 2-minute cameo in the series finale as another disgruntled plane passenger.
