10 Most Messed Up Steven Universe Moments

Gems are a hierarchal society. Lesser Gems work in lower class jobs while the elite are treated like royalty. The leaders of the society are the Diamonds.

As Steven learns more and more about his mother, dark secrets about the event that led to the end of the war come to light. It was believed Steven's mother Rose Quartz shattered one of the Diamonds, Pink Diamond. But the truth came out when Pearl revealed, via a very interesting trip through her memories to retrieve a cellphone of all things, Rose Quartz didn't shatter Pink Diamond. She WAS Pink Diamond.

Pink's more care-free, less formal view on things constantly had the other Diamonds scolding and punishing her. But when Pink faked her shattering, the other Diamonds (White, Yellow, and Blue) all blamed themselves for her shattering each reacting in different ways. Blue wanted to preserve everything that reminded her of Pink, Yellow wanted to destroy everything that reminded her of Pink, and White became trapped in her own head, refusing to allow anyone else in.

When Steven finally convinces Yellow and Blue that he now carries Pink's Gem, but is his own being he asks for their help in healing Corrupted Gems. The three are unsuccessful, but Yellow and Blue mention it could work with the help of White. Steven convinces them to take him and the Crystal Gems to Homeworld to confront White.

After a few days on Homeworld getting nowhere with White Diamond, who refuses to leave her quarters, Steven, the Gems, and Yellow and Blue try to talk to her. White drains their color and controls their minds before telling Pink, who she still believes is inside Steven, to come out.

White Diamond is the largest of the Diamonds and shines with an ethereal light. Her nails, lips, and eyelashes are black, stark contrasts to the brilliant white that is her namesake. She was already unnerving with her gentle, yet patronizing tone when she spoke. But after taking control of the other Diamonds and the Crystal Gems, she reached a new level of frightening.

She grabs Steven in her giant hand and with a terrifying smile and overly drawn wide eyes, tells Pink Diamond to stop playing and come out. Then, with two black fingernails, she pulls the Gem in Steven's stomach OUT. Pulls it right out of his stomach. The music playing is straight out of a horror movie and more than likely scarred a few children.
