10 Most Pointless American Horror Story Characters

Ma Petite was far from a forgettable character. None of the characters in Elsa’s Freak Show were, by their very nature, forgettable. When you have a cast of characters this unique, they’re at least going to stick out in some very basic sense.

In the Life on Mars musical segment, we saw her brought on stage in a birdcage. A few episodes later in a scene that is either cute or uncomfortable depending on your perspective, it’s shown that Elsa uses her as a literal snuggle pillow. Then there’s her truly horrific death scene via drowning in an oversized mason jar that would then be used as her display case.

Point being, Ma Petite had her share of memorable moments. On top of all that, there’s the fact that she was played by real life Guinness record holder for world’s smallest woman Jyoti Amge, which is a nice touch.

The problem is while Ma Petite has interesting moments, she doesn’t do anything interesting. The general consensus is that she’s cute. But that’s it, cute. She’s small, has a high a pitched voice, and a sweet and innocent personality.

However, she never does anything interesting or makes any challenges for the characters. The most we see from Ma Petite is when she does die, the horror it inflicts on Elsa. It’s not great when the only real impact a character has on the story is their death.
