10 Most Pointless American Horror Story Characters

6. Timothy And Emily (Apocalypse)

American Horror Story
FX

Timothy and Emily are essentially our point of view characters for the first part of the Apocalypse season. And that, right there, is the problem: the first part. The role they serve us is as newcomers to the post-apocalyptic society and all its new rules. Then, by the end of episode 3, after they have done their part, they’re unceremoniously killed off so the Coven witches can return and take center stage again.

Anyone who watched this season knew the witches were coming back, and watching Timothy and Emily fall in love in the post-apocalyptic bunker was nothing more than a dull waiting room to get to that point. The idea of a post-apocalyptic romance is not inherently a bad one. In this case though, it was.

The funny thing is, some of the characters from the first few episodes do, in fact, get resurrected by the witches. But not Timothy and Emily. In fact, for as much as Apocalypse loves to play with time and resurrection, we don’t see Timothy and Emily again until the final moments of the season when they have more or less been forgotten by all who watched it.
