10 Most Pointless Vikings Characters
6. Einar
Einar, much like Egil, was another minor villain in Vikings.
In Season Two, it was revealed that Lagertha had remarried another Earl and garnered a lot of love in that territory. Her husband, Sigvard, was a cruel and abusive man who one day pushed Lagertha too far and suffered a rather nasty case of a knife straight through his eye.
Einar and several others were witnesses to this, with Einar himself beheading Sigvard and calling for Lagertha to be their new ruler. As the one to behead her former husband, Einar wrongfully presumed he would be the next to wed Lagertha - but he was humiliatingly rejected.
This led to a lasting grudge between the two until Einar met a like-minded individual, Kalf, who helped usurp Lagertha while she was away.
Upon Lagertha's return, Kalf assisted in killing Einar to gain favour with Lagertha, even though he was also plotting to kill her son Bjorn.
Essentially, the show traded one treacherous lord for another - and even without Einar involved, all the events of treachery would have still transpired.
